We've all been there right? The crunch of time before school starts after a far too fun summer. . .we've been in the position where we have to get our financial aid squared away only to learn that filling out the FASFA isn't enough. . .no, they think you lied on it and are thus requesting you to give them all sorts of information pertaining to the household size, copy of your taxes and your W2s. Only when you take them in, you learn that the W2s which were faxed over to save your grief weren't faxed well enough thus they need new ones and when you try to get the stupid new ones they say the fax never came in so you have to then take a 3 hour lunch from work to go SIT in their office with your newly faxed W2s only to have them take the paper and thank you. . .3 hours to sit. . .
That's what happened to me last week. . .5 hours in the financial aid office and maybe 10 minutes of conversation. . .grr! Makes me so bloody mad!
so now they are demanding money out of me by friday. . .like I have any money because financial aid gave me the run around on what I'm supposed to do. . .I can't have $1900 magically appear! I finally got payment plans set up until my loan can come in. . .$446 loan from my dad that will be paid in full when and if the loan ever comes in. . .grr!

I'm so sorry they gave you this grief. It never ceases to amaze me how truly horrid dealing with financial stuff seems to be. There is always one more thing they need and yet when you give it to them, something else suddenly seems to be needed.
I hope the aid you're supposed to get comes in very, very soon.

Sounds like college for sure!! I once had someone in the college administration office tell me, "Oh, you're (dreamer); I've had you're name on my desk for 10 months. You need to have one more English credit before you can graduate."
I heard this the semester before graduation, luckily before I left the country for my student teaching. But this person seemed to think I'd find out that I needed that credit by ....? osmosis? thought transfer? Ya think he could have sent a memo or something in 10 months!!! ARRRGGGGHHH!! (A friend really wanted to send the guy some Ex-Lax Brownies)
I feel for ya, Hin!! Hope everything comes through soon!!

That really sucks. So far (knock on wood) I've not had too much trouble with my financial aid stuff. But believe me...there are way too many horror stories just like yours. I think it's an unwritten rule somewhere..."The financial aid office must cause at least 20 students to burst into tears and ruin at least 50 days before the end of each semester."
Hope everything smoothes over for you!

I just finished dealing with financial aid at my university. I went to check on the status of my awards and i got a message saying they still needed my parents part of the application with all their income and such info. So i resent the sheet to my parents which they filled out and sent in only to get an email saying that they had already done it. I phined the university and they said that they had it all straightened out but i wasnt goin to get anything because my gpa is 0.05 points to low. That is so frustrating

Why do we jump through their loops? It's rather annoying
