Ok, so originally I was planning a trip to Edinburough and to have it coincide with a fencing competition to use as an excuse. However, my car decided it didn't like that idea and went so far as to break itself forcing me to stay home and pay for it. So I didn't have the funds to go which was a downer.
However, there's a competition in Newcastle in June which gives me plenty of time to make the money for the trip. I planned on going over there for a week and just explore and enjoy the environment. Now, I'd planned on stopping in Leeds to visit the Royal Armory on my way to Newcastle however I'm not really sure what else to do. I've already enjoyed the London scene, as well as southern Wales so I was hoping this time to work on Northern England. But I'm only 20 so I don't think I can rent a car so really walking and trains are my means of transportation.
So what I would like to ask of you guys here is, do you have any suggestions on where I should go?

You could catch a train and go visit Scotland, or maybe stonehenge, if haven't already been there. Boy am I jealous you are so lucky, have always dreamed of visiting Europe.

You wouldn't be terribly far from Lindisfarne (Holy Island). You owe it to yourself to try their mead.
Yum.

Anywhere in Northern England is totally cool that you could possibly visit. Personally, I can't wait to get over there and visit Chatsworth in the Peak District. It is an immense estate with the coolest gardens and I've heard they even have a ropes course on the grounds, not to mention the house itself to tour!!
DantheMan can't wait to go to Iona and Lindisfarne also. Hopefully we'll get to go there soon, but it will probably be several years yet. (got to take the children to Disneyworld first)
Hope you have a marvelous trip!! Give details when you return!!!!!!!!!!
