Well, It's official... I have completed my manuscript and with the help of Dawn and my mom, we have finished the first past through of the ms.
I have been told that a Professional Editor will increase my chances of getting my ms in front of a publisher and will help polish the document, so it stands a better chance of being published.
The cheapest editor I could find was going to charge about $1,700 and I just couldn't afford that... but then I was talking to friend who had already been published and he hooked me up with his editor, who is charging me MUCH less than that... something that is actually affordable.
I made the full payment today and sent my ms to the editor. She will go through it 3 times and then help me fix all of the errors.
I also know someone who's girlfriend helps writers with their synopsis and query letters. She is willing to do that for free if I let her use me as a reference.
So, I don't want to get my hopes up, but it looks like God is blessing this process in amazing ways!

A good editor is worth his or her weight in gold! You've heard the saying, "Many hands make light work", well with writing, it's "Many editors make tight work".

Well, I don't want to get my hopes up about being published, but I have left it in God's hands. If it's his will for me to be published, then my efforts will be blessed.

cool twyrch, what are you writing about? This is a rough synopsis I've been working on. Ian Prescott's destiny lies within the past he cannot remember and the future he can only imagine. Only an ancient family legacy and the magic wielded by a Scion of Faerie will be enough to save the Faerie Realm from a power hungry mage and restore the Queen of Faerie to her rightful place. Being driven by an ancient family obligation and a need to discover the truth about his past, Ian joins his cousin, Drew, on an adventure into the mystical world of faerie. Together, they must fight through evil of all forms to save the queen's life and fulfill their ancestor's sacred trust by banishing an evil mage for all eternity. Only through this journey, will Ian discover the truth about his past, as well as the truth about himself. And Shaz... I'm sure my story has to be better than the rags you normally read.... say... Hitcherhiker's Guide to the Galaxy...

Congrats on getting the ms up and to the editor. I truly hope you'll get some great advice and we'll see your name on the best sellers list one day. I won't beg for a free copy of the book. *tries to pick himself up off the floor but fails* Well, I won't beg much.
