Check this out... Lemme hear your answers... www.angelfire.com/realm2/amethystbt/whichtreeareyou.htmlI'm a weeping willow tree...."The Melancholy"... "Beautiful, but full of melancholy, attractive (so I've been told ), very empatheitc, loves anything beautiful and tasteful, loves to travel, dreamer, restless, capricious (sometimes), honest, can be influenced but is not very easy to live with, demanding, good intuition, suffers in love but finds sometimes an anchoring partner."This is actually a very close description of me, considering...

I'm a Limetree.
Limetree, the Doubt (March 11 to March 20, Sep. 13 to Sep. 22) accepts what life dishes out in a composed way, hates fighting, stress and labor, tends to laziness and idleness, soft and relenting, makes sacrifices for friends, many talents but not tenacious enough to make them blossom, often wailing and complaining, very jealous, loyal.
This has mixed truth to it. Some aspects are spot on and others are completely off. The bold items are ones that match.

Well, since this IS SRL's site, I thought some Celtic Mythology would be nice...

Cypress, the Faithfulness (Jan. 25 to Feb. 3, July 26 to Aug.4) strong, muscular, adaptable, takes what life has to give, happy content, optimistic, needs enough money and acknowledgment, hates loneliness, passionate lover which cannot be satisfied, faithful, quick-tempered, unruly, pedantic and careless. Seems pretty accurate to me.

Well, I don't agree entirely with this...so I'll bold the ones that are applicable to me:
Fig Tree, the Sensibility (June 14 to June 23, Dec. 12 to Dec. 21) very strong, a bit self-willed, independent, does not allow contradiction or arguments, loves life, its family, children and animals, a bit of a butterfly, good sense of humor, likes idleness and laziness, of practical talent and intelligence.

Walnut Tree, the Passion (Apr. 21 to Apr. 30, Oct. 24 to Nov. 11) unrelenting, strange and full of contrasts, often egoistic, aggressive, noble, broad horizon, unexpected reactions, spontaneous, unlimited ambition, no flexibility, difficult and uncommon partner, not always liked but oftenadmired, ingenious strategist, very jealous and passionate, no compromises...I do compromise and I am flexible...these were the only contradictions...otherwise pretty accurate.

That's a good idea din. I'm going to do that to mine as well.
Cynan, I like what you've done with brining in some Celtic mythology. Don't take my comment as being negative.

[green]Ok, well I do not agree with any of all these, but these are somewhat accurate considering me and my girlfreind, brother and sister.[/green] [green]First My Girlfreind and Sister are:[/green] Weeping Willow, the Melancholy (March 1 to March 10, Sep. 3 to Sep.12) beautiful but full of melancholy, attractive, very empathic, loves anything beautiful and tasteful, loves to travel, dreamer, restless, capricious, honest, can be influenced but is not easy to live with, demanding, good intuition, suffers in love but finds sometimes an anchoring partner. [green]My brother (who I have invited to join) is:[/green] Rowan, the Sensitivity (Apr. 1 to Apr. 10, Oct. 4 to Oct. 13) full of charm, cheerful, gifted, without egoism, likes to draw attention, loves life, motion, unrest and even complications, is both dependent and independent, good taste, artistic, emotional, good company, does not forgive. [green]And of course then there is me:[/green] Maple, Independence of Mind (Apr. 11 to Apr. 20, Oct. 14 to Oct. 23) no ordinary person, full imagination and originality, shy and reserved, ambitious, proud, self-respecting, hungers for new experiences, sometimes nervous, many complexes, good memory, learns easily, complicated love life, wants to impress.the underlined portions are things that are possibly true aka I can see traces of it. (I think way too hard, much,deep...oh, well) so, sometimes...I'm shy and reserved...and I realized a long time ago that I have always strived to impress...desiring acceptance...yet...believe it or not I've grown away from that...or at least I have learned to guard against it. (I guess I am being way too honest...oh, well) [green]God bless the trees as well as you and me.[/green]

I feel compelled to point out that this is only speculatively Celtic at best. By and large, the lore of the druids is virtually dead. This stuff is mostly Wiccan impositions onto things that the Celts supposedly believed.
That being said, it's still fun. Like astrology, numerology, tarot (when pertaining to the past, present, or personal; I've got issues with trying to foretell the future)---I tend to think of them not as definitive statements or ultimate authorities, but rather giving glimpses into individual personality tendencies or predispositions...both of which can be overcome by free-willed action.

Fir Tree, the Mysterious (Jan. 2 to Jan. 11, July 5 to July 14) Extra ordinary taste, dignity, cultivated airs, loves anything beautiful, moody, stubborn, tends to egoism but cares for those close to it, rather modest, very ambitious, talented, industrious uncontent lover, many friends, many foes, very reliable.
we did a lot of these in my communication seminar class my senior year at Greenville College...most of it i feel does describe me, especially the mysterious part... thats the one word a lot of people use when describing me. i'm so quiet and reserved people find it mysterious. when actually im just quiet becuase i'm watching everyone and everything around me (and i often feel that whatever i have to say isnt important). i'm a pretty insightful person though because of my observations.

I am a Cedar.
Cedar, the Confidence (Feb. 9 to Feb. 18, Aug. 14 to Aug. 23) of rare beauty, knows how to adapt, likes luxury, of good health not in the least shy, tends to look down on others, self-confident, determined, impatient, wants to impress others, many talents, industrious, healthy optimism, waiting for the one true love, able to make quick decisions.
Have to disagree with a few things, I am usually shy around people I don't know very well, I try not to look down on people, I don't want to impress people, why should I care what other people think as long as I am happy, and I definitely can't make decisions quickly. Plus, I have already found my one true love.

i disagree with the wailing and complaining part, but everything else seems pretty well on target.

Dred, haha, I didn't take it as negative at all. It's just kinda fun to see if this thing is accurate or not... I'm gonna go ahead and make bold those that are close. (See first post)

Poplar, the Uncertainty (Feb. 4 to 8, May 1 to 14, Aug 5 to 13) looks very decorative, no self-confident behavior, only courageous if necessary, needs goodwill and pleasant surroundings, very choosy, often lonely, great animosity, artistic nature, good organizer, tends to philosophy, reliable in any situation, takes partnership serious.
Actually, hardly any of that applies to me. And I looked at the ones for the rest of my family, and the only one that seems to fit in any way is the tree for my youngest sister. But I've never really held much faith in these things. I'm hardly ever the way they say I should be.
