so i went back to my high school which i graduated from last june and I go to check the mural I painted. A friend and painted a mural, we spent weeks on ( and yes we had permission it was for an advanced art class) well anyway the painting was escher's "print gallery" the painting is in black and white and we decided to keep it that way. well anyway i come back to look at it and to my astonishment some of the students have been "improving" it. They added spots of bright colour in random places the colour doesnt work and they all clash with each other. I was pretty angry. I mean i can understand that they would like a colourful peice up, but out of respect cant they just leave it as is for at least half a year?

I'm so sorry to hear that they didn't show any courtesy to your work. I don't know why that some people always feel they need to improve the work of others. Sometimes things are best left the way they are. Enjoy what has been provided.
*sighs*

Certainly sucks when your time, effort and work is not respected. Perhaps you should go vandalise someone elses work to make yourself feel better?
No, probably not.
Is the mural meant to be added to? Could the students have done it with a teacher's permission? It's quite possible it was a misunderstanding.
Or not... hard to know if it was rude or not without the other sides story. But I'll side with you on this one. They're jerks. Big jerks!!
*woohoo, post 250!!

well, it is school property, but i can see how as the original artist, this could be a slap in the face.

I think that maybe, before you just to conclusions and feel hurt, you talk with the art teachers at your high school. They could have been doing an experiment or like someone else mentioned, it might be an add on. Jumping to conclusions get you nowhere and just makes you very angry. Talk it out with the teachers and see if you can't find a logical reason for this to have happened. I know on campus in the Center for the Arts building there is a always changing mural that the students change. Not out of lack of respect but because that's what they are doing. Just a thought

Just a thought you know you could be very right, I was in the experimental advanced art program, so now that the program is in its second year mabye she wants it to be the official wall of the class. never would have thought of that on my own

See, jumping to conclusions makes you uncapable of seeing other aspects of it. I'm sure that since it was expiramental she's just trying other things out with the program as well

But we can still label them jerks, can't we? Normally I've found that the people who I label as jerks also label me as a jerk. . .just something to think about
