Anyone know why my LAN keeps thinking it's unplugged? This is becoming rather annoying. . .it was fine up until today when my roommate left.. . I don't know if her computer being off has anything to do with it, but the LAN just won't stay connected Any help???

First thing to check is the cable... make sure it is connected to the wall properly. Unplug it and plug it back in if you have to. Next, try your cable in your roommie's network wall jack Check your Device Manager to ensure there aren't any problems with the network card. Open a command prompt (Start - Run and type CMD, hit enter) Type: [ping 127.0.0.1] and if you get reply's back, then card is working properly. Call the campus IT dept. If that doesn't work, then I'm not sure what to tell you.
