I'm now in Revelation and Micah. In reading Revelation, I was reminded how often God stops to tell us about measurements. He does so in Revelation, Ezekiel, and several Old Testament prophetical books, including Moses. Even the Ark has specific measurements. Not only does God tell us that better days are to come, he gives us specifics on how things will be. And he does it throughout the Bible meaning for it to be an encouragement. A good reminder about how well he knows tomorrow just as he knows today!

Good for you. I read it twice when I was younger to win three trips to Astro world. But, it did not really take. Anyway this year my church is reading through it. The one thing I know is it is definitely worth it. It is kind of like "actually sitting at the feet of Jesus and learning directly from him-- Check out the story of Mary and Martha in Luke where Jesus says sitting at his feet is the one thing we need in life. Well God bless. ttyl

I've kept up with my readings, in case anyone was wondering. As the new year started, so has the reading started at the beginnings of the OT and NT. I'm in Genesis now with Jacob, and in Matthew with the calling of the disciples.
I love how the Lord deals with each person differently. Whether it be Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Peter, or Matthew. He calls them to different purposes and in different ways. I see how He has called me to a different purpose as well. Not to say I rank up there with the afore mentioned, but He still deals with me on a close and personal level. He's awesome!

Amen and Amen. Amen. Thankyou Jesus

I'm in Exodus and Matthew now. Still plugging along. Exodus is getting a little ... less interesting. I'm trying to stay interested in all the descriptions of the ark and things. I know He has reasons for them all, though, so I am looking for little things I haven't noticed before. In Matthew, I'm struck by how purposeful Jesus was in everything he did. I could do with some of that in my life, for sure.

I am going to read the bible front to back. I have recently heard about this 'karma' thing, and I am trying to improve my...how should I say it...my karma. I guess you could say. I think I need to know more about my religion anyway. I should proabably do that to sometime soon...

They also have Bibles that are called, One Year Bibles and it's reading the entire Bible in a year. It's kind of like having a daily devotional. It has scripture from OT, then a Psalms and Proverb, and then NT. It takes about 15 mins a day or so.
I haven't actually been faithful to complete in a year. I've gotten all the way to August. LOL! I probably should try again. If I started now, I could read 2 a day and get caught up pretty quick...I might do that.

I'm reading James now and loving it. I like the verse about God being the king of light and not changing with each shifting shadow.
