Ha Ha! Cree, you're running headlong into a brawl here over what chili really is! You go to Hinata's part of the world and order chili, you'll get something far different from what you expected --

ok, I will define chili. Chili is a meal. It is served hot with varying ingredients. Some have meat. Some have vegetables. Some have beans. Some have a combination of meat, veggies, or beans. However, what all chili has in common is a base stock of chili powder. When I say "chili", this is what I mean:beef (ground and browned or steak cubes precooked) ranch style beans (which are kidney beans or cowboy beans in a chili powder based sauce) chili powder cayenne pepper (the more you add, the hotter it gets - I prefer 3 alarm or pretty hot) fresh ground black pepper water* (but not too much - this ain't soup - it's supposed to be thick) * I actually add a secret ingredient (non-alcoholic) in place of the water, which I will happily share with you, if you ever come to my house and eat my chili. I know that chili is made different all over the world. That's why they are things called 'chili cook-offs'. Everyone thinks they make the best chili. You don't see people having oatmeal cook-offs, do you?
