As you may or may not know, the Post of the Week competition has been dissolved due to lack of interest. To generate more interest and activity in the forum, we have changed the rules of competition scoring so that each correct answer is worth 5 karma.
If you are a part of a house, you score 5 karma points for your house... If you are nuetral, you score 5 karma points for yourself.
With the gaining of Karma, you can purpose "prizes", which as of now consist of Glowing Names, Random Sigs and Personalized Titles.
To replace the PotW Competition, we have added two new competitions, starting September 1st. Here is a list of the competitions and how they are scored.
1) Sig/Avvy of the Month - Like Member of the Month, members have 15 days to nominate someone for the best Signature or Avatar and then members will vote on their winner the last half of the month. The winner will receive 25 individual Karma points.
2) SRL Brain Teasers - At the beginning of each month, we will post 10 trivia questions from all of Lawhead's books. Members can then spend time looking up the answers and then submit them via PM to a mod or admin. The scoring will be handed out in this manner.
The first person to submit the most correct answers wins 5 Karma per correct answer.
The second person to submit the most correct answers wins 4 Karma per correct answer.
The third person to submit the most correct answers wins 3 Karma per correct answer.
The fourth person to submit the most correct answers wins 2 Karma per correct answer.
Anyone else who participates will win 1 karma for each correct answer.
Finally, we have an addition to the rules which everyone should be made aware of.
Joining a Forum House is not Manditory and should be done out of free will. Members are allowed to remain nuetral if they choose to be and should not be looked down upon for their choice. Any member caught deriding, hassling, belittling, intimidating or otherwise harassing another member to join a house when that member chooses to remain nuetral shall be warned and lose 5 Karma. If the problem continues, then more drastic measures, such as moderation and loss of all Karma, will be enforced. Joining a house is an individual decision, so please allow each individual to make their own choices.
