Tegid just PMed me and told me that you all are DYING to hear about my date from last night. . .so let me recap how it went down. . .
I got off work at 5 o'clock. . .and I had happy news, my sister had finally given my parents her number, so I called and talked to my sister on the way home. We discussed the upcoming date and it's a good thing because I'm now DYING to tell her about it. . .anyway, I got home, got her off the phone, changed into my black pair of khakis and threw some make up on my face. Then I went to the Institute building where Aaron picked me up to take me to this girl's apartment. She was moving and Aaron felt terrible about not helping her out, so we went and assisted. After Aaron moved like 3 things out of the apartment all the guys stood around looking at the U-Haul while my roommate and I brought everything out the apartment. The guys finally figured out the game of tetris for the U-Haul and got it loaded. By that point it was 7:30 and my roommate's date was supposed to show up around 8. So I was like, "k, we have to go now. . .I still have to cook dinner!"
We left, dropped off the Missionaries at their apartment, dropped of Aaron's little brother at their place and then came back to my place where my roommate was already waiting for us to show up. I unlocked the front door, let Aaron in, locked the front door (With the key since it's the only way to lock the door) and got told that I was locking him in. So I let all the way in the house and again locked the door with a key (we're paranoid females!)
So I went to the kitchen and started cooking the pork chops. Aaron asked if he could help, I said no. . .the reason being that if my dad found out I was giving out the secret recipe for the pork chops I would definately be dead meat. Anyway, I started the pork chops, the water for the mashed potatoes, the peas and the gravy. Wee! I finally got everything going and I came out to chat for a bit. . .but not for long because the pork chops had to be watched and the peas were done and the gravy was boiling and needed stirred. . .ugg!
Finally I had dinner on the table and Justin (my roommate's date) hadn't shown up, so we called and left a message. He called back just after we had started eating to tell us he was on his way (he had been at a meeting that got started late). So we ate, and chatted and what not. . .then we were done and still no Justin so we were like. . .Ice cream time
This is the interesting part. See, we had two types of Ice Cream. . . one was vanilla, chocolate and carmel with carmel filled chocolate footballs (VERY GOOD!) and the other was orange sherbert with chocolate chips in it. Well, Aaron had ducked into the bathroom while I was scooping up the ice cream (my roommate demanded that I did it since I'm the great scooper upper). I didn't know what Aaron wanted so I scooped up the bowls for my two roommates and I was about to start on mine when Aaron came in. I showed him the choices and he was like, "OOh, I don't know. . . can I have both?" and I was like, "Yeah, we can do that." Since I was having the sherbert kind, I already had the spoon in hand for it. He got a spoon for the vanilla one and scooped up that portion of his while I got my ice cream. Then I just scooped up some for him and put it in his bowl. . .then he was doing something weird (talking probably about the heating and cooling system of our house. . .) and I took the bowls out to the table. He turns around and is like, "Where is. . ." and I'm like "I brought them out here." so he came out and we had ice cream. However, about this time Justin had shown up so he was eating and that's when talking time really started up. Aaron and Justin were beng silly, but they are boys and I've learned not to interrupt male conversations.
During the conversation we had finished the ice cream and we were just sitting with the bowls in front of us. Well, Justin got done and took the bowls into the kitchen with his dishes and my roommate helped him get his ice cream. . .meanwhile. . .the conversation is continuing and Aaron is bumping my elbow. . .yeah, he's a lefty and he sat to the left of me. . .so it wasn't like our elbows were bumping on purpose. . .or was it? He just kept occassionally bumping my arm/elbow area with his arm as he was talking and then at some point, I don't remember him doing this. . .my roommate told me, he drapped his arm around my chair. Yeah. . . I was extremely relaxed the entire evening.
At some point of the conversation it had started to DOWN POUR and Aaron was like, "It's raining!" so I unlocked the back door only to find the down pour was slanted in that particular direction. Good thing because Aaron helped me close the windows and then we went out front to see if we could leave the front door open and I was like, "I wonder if I left my windows cracked" Since I normally do to keep it from getting too hot. It's a good thing there too because my passenger side window was completely down. Yeah. . .I was soaked by the time we came back in. . .but he walked with me everywhere through the house. . . he was CONSTANTLY by my side. He asked for a drink of water and I went in the kitchen to get a cup and the water and he followed and stood talking to me while I bent down to get the water out of the fliter we have in the fridge.
So then we moved the conversation from the table to the couch where we played a rendition of the question game. We all had write down questions and then answer them. They were. . .interesting questions coming from Aaron. . .I think we had something like, "What kind of underwear do you have on?" and "Do you shave your legs?" and "Have you ever gotten a pimple on your butt?" lol! Yeah, just a bit silly. . .
So we finished with the question game, during which Aaron hinted at another date since I haven't seen Moulin Rouge. So I'm really hoping that he ask me out. . .it would be nice. . .I really enjoy hanging out with him. I feel comfortable around him and he's a great guy.
I haven't given him the poem yet. . .but I'm beginning to think about giving it to him soon. Maybe I'll just hand him the envelope and run away at church on Sunday.
