So for the past couple of days, I've pretty much been feeling like taking my jaw and ripping it off. . . ofcourse my little sis had to point out that this wouldn't help. . . hmmmmm. . . yeah dont you love little sisters?
Basically my gums are throbbing with pain constantly, and the motrin dose 5 times a day doesnt seem to help. . . and I look at it constantly thinking that my tooth will suddenly pop out of my gum, but not it looks the same. . .
And the other day I was telling a peer how much it hurts, hoping to get some empathy, and what does he say? 'I wasn't born with wisdom teeth'. . . can you say WHAT?. . .just my luck. . .
Why are we even born with these teeth? I'm pretty sure i've been chewing all my life just fine. . . I don't think my mouth needs some extra help. . . or maybe there just there so you can complain about them. . . who knows. . .
So basically wisdom teeth hurt. . . period. . .

I got mine taken out last year. They'd pierce the skin...then sink back under the gums...then come back...then retreat...
Basically, I am SOOOOO glad to have them gone after too many years of that.
I feel your pain... {{{hugs}}}

I had all four of mine removed at the same time when I was younger. I hope the pain goes away for you or at least dulls down to the point that it isn't troubling you any longer. It's possible you'll have to get the problem ones removed.
I don't know why we have them. I didn't feel any less smart after I had mine yanked.

I had mine taken out in the military...all four at once. They had to break them into four pieces first to get them out (either that or they wanted practice on this procedure...yay Navy Dentists). The Doc actually forgot a piece and they had to go in and cut my gums to retrieve it later. hmph

Ouch. That doesn't sound like the new exactly what they should have. I hope you're all healed up and there aren't any lasting problems from that Untainted.

for some reason I only have one wisdom tooth, kinda funny huh. But it has to be pulled or else it will continue to grow with nothing opposing it

Are you sure the pain is only "teething" pain? Be sure to have it checked for infection... and yes, they can become infected even if they don't break through the gums, or they can put pressure on neighboring teeth causing them to hurt, too. Unless you have ample room in your jaw, you should just get them out.

I believe that the reason we have wisdom teeth has to do with our history. Realize that Oral care is a very recent development in the history of mankind, meaning that we used to have all our teeth fall out by the time we were older. So then we had the wisdom teeth as kind of a back plan. . .but hey, I could be completely wrong and it could just be God's way of getting kicks and giggles (highly doubt that one). . .
Hope your pain's gone away, if not. . .go see a dentist about getting them removed. It's the best thing in the long run
