Paladin's "confession" about placing SRL's books in order in bookstores caused a question to pop into my head.
My parents bought a new set of the Chronicles of Narnia some time ago, which features the new order of books (Magician's Nephew is #1, LLW is #2, etc.)
My sisters arranged the books so that they are in the original order, but the numbers on the covers' spines are not correct.
Since these books are displayed in our living room, I think that even though the new order is not as good as the old, it is more asthetically pleasing to keep them as they are. They counter with the proposal to point out the old order to anyone who asks why our books are "in dissarray."
Thoughts?

I think it's your living room and you can display your books however you want Me personally, I respect the original publishing order. Blame it on my mild OCD but I like reading them in chronological order

I don't have strong preferences one way or another honestly. I always thought of Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe as the first book but there is some logic to it being the other way as well. Whatever suits your needs would be my choice.

There are different ways to organize, but I prefer the old way myself. Chronological order works as well, but some, like me, cling to the old way!!

I bought my daughter the Narnia series last christmas. Starts with the Magician's nephew and ends with the final battle. Caspian incidentally is fourth and the dawn treader is five.
