This looks like the place I've been searching for!

I read lots of books and have been to many author's reader's forums. I am dismayed at how so many fantasy/sci-fi readers bash Christianity and preach God's non-existence. I looked at some of the topics here on the forum and immediately registered. I could tell within a few seconds that there are at least a few Believers here.

I am a 40 year old teacher/football coach in Texas. I have a wife and two daughters. I served in the U.S. Army as an infantryman in the 7th and 101st divisions.

My favorite authors are Mr. Lawhead, Bernard Cornwell, Conn Iggulden, George R R Martin, John Grisham, Michael Curtis Ford, and Kevin J. Anderson.

Byzantium is in my top 10 favorite books.

I also am an avid gamer and realize I need to break the habit.

I'm thrilled to have found this place and I hope to make many friends here.

Greetings. I'm not on here much. For me it's not games, it's wandering around forums and chatting with friends... thus the reason I'm not here much, or I'd get re-addicted. You'll love the people here. They're quality friends. Lawhead has excellent fans.

I've been there with the whole social conflict between Christianity and Science Fiction and Fantasy. It's so nice to know other people who cling to Christ and manage to learn even when there are impossibilities in the storyline... or perhaps because of it. In the words of one of my favorite songs, "Yet the world is full of zanies and fools who won't believe in sensible rules, who won't believe what sensible people say, yet when all these daft and dewy-eyed dopes keep building up impossible hopes, impossible ... things are happening every day!"

Greetings and welcome to the forum.

You'll find there are quite a few different people here who feel the same as you regarding Sci-Fi/fantasy versus Christianity.

Some people feel the need to discount anything other than what they have locked themselves into because they fear any shakeup in their comfort zone.
