I thought I would go ahead and start a new thread to get other readers' insights and opinions into all the other Robin Hood works out there that are of value.
I have a 6 year old son, and we love to experience Robin Hood together, so I am always interested in finding new outlets of Robin Hood adventure (not just books).
So I figured this could be a good thread for talking about other Robin Hood works (in all art forms) and learn about them...

My first question is this...
I am looking for good Robin Hood art. The best would be digital art that I could use as wallpaper or print out, but even books or websites that I could browse would be great? Anyone? Bueller?

BBC America has a new Robin Hood series something akin to the old Hercules and Xena series- very modernized versions of the original stories. The episodes are fairly entertaining, but they aren't afraid to be historically inaccurate.

I can't help much (I've never had any luck finding good RH art ) You might try running searches on Deviant art and Elfwood. but for books you can always try the classics. Howard Pyle, and my personal favorite, the one by Gilbert Henry. (I read it in a weekend when I was 12)

When I was in high school we did a major production of Larry Blamire's Robin Hood. This thread actually brought it to my mind. It was a lot of fun to do and I remember laughing alot the first time I read through the script...It's more of a comedy than a drama. Lots of sword fighting, innuendo, and slapstick type humor. I regretted being cast as Friar Tuck though after I ended up "eating" the same bread 4 nights in a row.... I naturally had to search for the script online, and now I might have to purchase a copy for old time's sake. www.bakersplays.com/store/product_info.php/products_id/1048?osCsid=14d512b6eb587db9f91a2726a36f3352

I just did a search for "Robin Hood" at images.google.com and found what I thought was some pretty cool stuff. I have safe setting off on my search, just so you can replicate what I did.

If you are still looking for books on Robin Hood, here are a couple to check out:
Howard Pyle's "Robin Hood" - definately a classic, but may require a dictionary to read. I have memories of reading this with the dictionary open next to the book because I was so desperate to understand the story. I would also highly recommend his "Otto of the Silver Hand" - this one is a little easier to read.
Robin McKinley's "Outlaws of Sherwood Forest"
Send me a message if you want some other ideas for adventure books. I was pretty addicted to anything adventure oriented when I was a kid.

I was about 5 or 6 when Robin Hood became my favorite hero, and throughout the years one of my favorite books was 'The Adventures of Robin Hood' by Roger Lancelyn Greene (a very good friend of C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien). Other than that, the others recommended are also excellent!

What about the Robin of Sherwood TV series from the 1980s, starring Michael Praed, Ray Winstone, Clive Mantle and Mark Ryan? I've been a huge fan of that series for YEARS. I also understand that the new BBC show isn't all that great; I've seen some comments online from people who were rather disappointed with the new series. I haven't seen it so I have no clue. Just passing the word along.
I also happen to be a personal devotee of Nasir, the Saracen in the Robin of Sherwood series. He's played by Mark Ryan. Oooo, he's quite yummy!

Do a search for "Michael Praed Robin Hood" or "Robin of Sherwood" etc and there should be plenty of awesome images from the show available.
