I just finished reading the Celtic Crusades series and I noticed one more thing that makes Stephen brilliant. In order to show time passing he has to show that another day has been spent, yet he never seems to run out of ways to describe the oncoming night. If I new I had to describe night falling at least 30 times in each book, I would soon run out of descriptive ways of saying it and would very quickly be repeating myself. SRL never does! Next time you read that series of books take note of all the different creative ways he has of saying Night Fell. Just one more reason that he's the king.

That's a very good point. I've noticed it but never really paid that much attention to the many ways he uses to describe night falling. He really is a gifted writer.
