over all good series.
The Paradise War: at first it dragged so much for me. I understand that Lawhead wanted the reader to understand the otherworld before setting us loose in it BUT to me it was boring
once Lewis got into Albion that all changed. Excitement right of the bat. I read it so fast I had to read the last few chapters over again.
The Silver Hand: My favorite book of the "song". I have no complaints about it. Everything was GREAT!
The Endless Knot: In my opinion this book didnt get interesting untill the ending. Maybe I just like war too much. the journey getting there was dull. fighting wierd things is ok, i guess, but nothing beats two armys going at it.
The ending made up for its dullness though!!! WHAT AN ENDING!!! Talk about an ending containing tonz of emotions. i was happy angry sad all in random order at any given time lol. Lawhead really knows how to get to his readers!
The interview was interesting. Gave us readers a chance to have a lil peep at Lawhead's brain and see how it works. I really appriciated it.
Keep in mind these are just my opinions. I'm no scholar so maybe there are things of importance that i didnt notice or comprehend. I would highly appreciate other's feed back and opinions concerning SoA. Lawhead RocKZ!!!

The Song of Albion rocks indeed!
The ending is probably one of the best endings of any book by anybody. One of the things I enjoyed was the details in the beginning book were intertwined throughout the series. The series is Lawhead's best (IMO).

I dunno. Don't get me wrong, SoA was *flipping* awesome. But SRL just seems to get better as he goes. Patrick, in my humble opinion, is probably his best.

I love it all. I'm not preferential. I've followed the progression and just enjoy everything I read of his.

Song of Albion has always been my favorite. When the books first came out, I began reading them, but my family (husband and son) were chomping at the bit to take their turn reading... so instead of making them wait, I read aloud to them every evening. I kept ahead by a chapter or two, but basically we read the book together as a family. I remember that when I read those last chapters I absolutely broke down with tears of joy! Totally choked up when reading aloud. I don't know that I've enjoyed a story as much as SoA.

Tindril, that is really awesome. What a great way to build memories with your family.

I think you all know that SoA was my favorite series by far... for the reasons already mentioned on this thread and for others. Unlike his other works, I was able to connect to Llew unlike any other character since Frodo Baggins, or Atreau. It was an awesome experience.
I agree that he has gotten better with his later works, which is why I keep hoping for another SoA "style" novel... I can't wait to read Robin Hood!!

I think I would have to say that SoA is my very favorite, although I can't really say why--as I love all the others too. I will say though, that every time I finish it, I am left for days in a melancholy mood, mourning the end, and leaving me yearning for more.

Tinidril - You wept tears of joy...I wept tears of abject depression! I just re-read the SoA and finished it last afternoon...I spent the rest of the day choking over anything I put into my mouth as I tried to convince myself that there was simply no other way out...Llew had to return to the manifest world. Quite frankly, I'd rather he had died...completely! I kinda agree with messenger's sentiments...

Well, if he hadn't gone back to our world, we'd have never read the story.

Just reading the trilogy again, on Silver Hand at the moment. I had forgotten how much I love the story. Always makes me want to have a go at writing again, this time I think I will follow it through.

SoA has got to be my favorite series of his, but the King Raven Trilogy is a very close second. Silver Hand was my fave. in that series.
