Casting Call

Goodness! There's only 6 topics on this thread?! I'm surprised!

So, if Dragon king was made into a movie, who would you cast? This was done on the Song of Albion thread, so I thought maybe we could do it on here as well! your thoughts?

For Quentin, a young guy... how about me? (yes, that was a joke)

For Toli, someone who can act well without saying much.

For Durwin, someone old yet energetic.

For Theido or Ronsard, kind of an Aragorn/Boromir thing. Both tall, Ronsard is bigger chested/shouldered, and hairier.

For Jaspin, Johnathan Rhys-Myers.

For Queen Alinea, someone much like Scatha, except not so battle-hardened. Gentle, but ready to fight.

For King Eskevar, I think of Bernard Hill but it's too bad he was Theoden in LotR.

But that is a point. A lot of the characters in DK are similer to LotR. It makes it tough to think of people other than those actors.

Alright I just brainstormed some actors... so some of them might not be that great of an idea but here is what I have come up with in the past 3 minutes....

Quentin - when he gets older maybe Colin Ferrell

Durwin - when I read it he struck me as a Sean Connery kind of role

Theido - Vincent Regan (Eudorus in Troy, Captain in 300)

Ronsard- Gerard Butler ( I liked 300 if you can't tell)

Jaspin - Joaquin Phoenix ( hes already played this role in Gladiator pretty much)

Eskevar - Russell Crowe or maybe Clive Owen

Nimrood - Billy Connolly ( just look at him hes perfect)

Oh well might not be that great of choices but I would like to see it haha.

Hmm... I like Billy Connnelly as nimrood, and I can maybe see Gerard butler as Ronsard. Um... *looks down list* I don't really like Vincent as Theido, but maybe I just saw a bad picture. *nods* yep, Sean Connery.

I'm afraid I would be sorely tempted to cast Orlando Bloom as Toli, *ducks various objects thrown in her direction* because he has the dark features and sensitive eyes that I imagine Toli having, (I know, I'm SUCH a girl!) and also his acting is pretty good. But at the same time I wouldn't want him because th role would be too similar to Legolas.

For Quentin... as much as I like Cloin Ferrel I can't se him as Quentin (to old for one thing) What about William Mosely? ('m not the best at casting calls, but I think they're fun!

Well thats why I said when hes older for Colin Ferrell.... lets see if I'm thinking right Quentin was 15 or so in the first book, 10 years had passed between 1 and 2, and in the third he has a 9 year old son...so I'm gonna take a shot in the dark and say that Quentin was at least 38 in the third book... I don't know of many young actors that I like no one sticks out to me.... NEway, don't guess it matters

I don't know, I've never seen pics of Collin Ferrel when he was younger.

For some reason, there is always a character or characters that I think should be played by Jeremy Irons (Myrddin Emrys, Ollathir, Tegid Tathal ap Talaryant). Can't think of one for this one right off of the bat though.

I'm curious, why does everyone seem to envision Tegid as being older? I don't get it! He's younger than Llew! I always imagined someone like Rupert Friend or Ioan Gruffudd playing him.

That was a bit off topic, sorry. I like Jeremy Irons too; just not as Tegid. ;D
