Have you guys read the Dragon King saga? It's sheer genious! I think they should make a movie of those books! I mean Christian Fantasies like Lord of the Rings and Narnia are selling on a huge scale, and I consider these books classics. Personally I think it surpasses Narnia and is on a level with Lotr. Any thoughts?

Personally, I wish Lawhead had his own movie producer with an unlimited budget who would make movies of ALL his works just the way Lawhead wants them. Alas, I'm afraid our imagination will have to suffice for now.
Welcome!

I first read the Dragon King Trilogy of all Lawhead's work. That was many years ago though.
It would be great to see his books made into film but we'll need to be patient and keep our fingers crossed.

I think money wise it would be a giganitic success! I mean he could probably sell it to say universal or someone who doesn't have a fantasy movie yet. They would buy it! After all it is a masterpiece!

You would think that with the success of fantasy movies like LOTR and religious based movies like Passion that SRL's books would be prime properties. Apparently Hollywood is still asleep at the wheel.

I would love to see many of SRL's books made into movies. But the best ones (I think) would be:
Song of Albion The Pendragon Cycle Empyrion Saga.
Those three I think, if they made them into movies (BIG movies--maybe 3 parters) would have the stuff it takes to make it big.)
Other Christian authors are getting into movies. Frank Peretti released The Visitation in the Spring, and has THREE more in the works--the most exciting is that they are FINALLY (REALLY!!) in pre-production for This Present Darkness. 20th Century Fox has bought the rights to it and is lining up the producer and director. They already have some concept art too.
Also House and Monster are being movified.
If Frank can do it, so can Stephen!!!! ;D

Awesome. I really loved Monster. That book just kept me involved the entire time. I would really love to see more Christian authors have their work made into movies so we'll just have to wait and see.

Awesome! I loved This present darkness!!! It's probably Perettis best book with Prophet. Could you please post a link or something else when you hear news about this?
Blessings, Joel.

I get my info from Frank Peretti's website and his forum. You will recognize me as Messenger of Eden (I have taken to using the same name in all the forums I visit, and wish I had used the full form here...) It's interesting how different forums develop different characters. This one, I think, has a youthful but mature feel to it--I get the feeling that many of the members here are mid-twenties to early forties. Many of the members of Peretti's forum are a bit younger--but still fun to talk to there. The Kiriathan and King forum (for fans of Karen Hancock's Guardian King series) is young also, very new, and very strictly moderated. The Into the Wardrobe Forum is far broader in its aspect, and much worldlier. I find many people there that I clash with regularly on all kinds of topics--though many people there also do believe what I do. (I am more vocal in my beliefs than most of them--so I get flayed alive regularly there). Pretty interesting. So if you visit Frank's forum, it's fun but young. I'm in there though
