hey guys did anyone else pick up the fact that in the search for fierra jaire says to treet "They're such nuisances sometimes, but don't worry. they eat only fish, so they're not really dangerous". referring to the wevi cats
later in the siege of dome, crocker meets the wevi cat and it's eating other animals.
does anyone know why that is?

I don't remember, but perhaps Crocker was seeing things? Or perhaps the influence of evil corrupted these particular animals? I'm guessing without getting the book out.

hmm umm no crocker wasnt seeing things it was when he was in the blue forrest and it was the wevi cat that ended up adopting him... the wevi cat was eating the other animals before being influenced by croker at all in fact they almost fought over crockers kill when they first met  but thankyou for the suggestions

Perhaps the wevicats became more 'civilized' under the Fieri's influence, or else there was nothing but fish in Fierra. I don't remember seeing any animals in Fierra proper but rakes, wevicats, and humans.

Well, sometimes one has to jump into the character's head a little. Lets suppose you see an animal eat only fish? Wouldn't you suppose that was all the animal ate? I expect that's the sort of explanation that would work best in this situation.
I'm not going to suggest that an author just might lose track of bits of trivia from time to time. *grin* After all, one day people will be reading something I wrote and going.... "So why did she say there was only one island, but here we have someone swimming between two?"

thanks Karen yeah LOL and normally things don't stick out to me like that I guess maybe it stuck out so much was because I thought the wevi cats were kind of friendly and only ate the fish so they wouldnt harm anyone...then it was eating other animals and was going to eat crocker if he wasnt careful

um my idea was that maby in fierra they eat fish but in the forest they eat other animals as there are no fish? or the other way around or it could be something about demestication?
