The Prodigal Returns?

Blessings to you all!

So, I've been away for a long while, and I've had some major ups and downs in the last year or two. I'm not going to burden everyone with hearing about that, but, let's just say I'm glad to be where I am right now.

Since we've last enjoyed one another's company I have:

Been through catechism, and joined the Orthodox Church through the Sacrament of Chrimsation.

Pretty much ended my binge drinking.

Started being a regular church-goer for the first time since I was 12.

Gotten a job at a Natural Health/Living school.

Begun the home-buying process (should close in 8 weeks!)

Started saving for 3-5 years of Orthodox seminary training (where I'm going--I don't yet know, and it's still a couple of years off in any event).


I think that covers the basics. So...will someone fill me in on what's been going on here? I'll be cruising through random threads, but I'd rather had coherent narratives.

As far as the forum goes--I can tell you about the rise and fall of all our entertainment programs and a few things about what's going on for each member, but I think I'll let them speak for themselves.

I have to agree with what CoI said.

For me, my wife and I have been blessed with a baby girl. She's a little over 7 months old now and changing so fast it makes my head spin. Beyond that nothing really new I guess. There's always more of the usual stuff going on with home ownership and the never ending projects that creep up.

Hey, welcome back! I haven't been around much myself to tell the truth. Like you, I'm trying to save up for school, although I'm looking to study graphic design or film. Still haven't decided which (maybe I'll revert back to my original idea and study archeaology ). I've also gotten into costume making and sewing my own clothes. Which reminds me, I need to get fabric for my next convention costume...but that's besides the point. Not that I had a point to begin with, but you get the idea! At least I'm not spouting non sequitors.

Yes, I do enjoy making everyone's day a little more random.

Hey, welcome back my old friend! It's good to see you posting again.

We've made a few changes to try to bring the forum back to its roots and infuse it with a new shot of activity, and I think it will just go in cycles like everything else.

You can get the nitty-gritty in the Cairn though... we discussed everything to death before doing anything.
