Ahem... TO MY DAD: I know you won't read this...you don't even know I'm on this forum, lol. But I just wanted to brag about you...how great you are. I've always been a "Daddy's Girl." Yes, Mom is awesome...but YOU are the one who watches Star Wars with me and gives running commentary on all the weapons and ships. You are the one who gave me the Lord of the Rings trilogy when I was eight years old and got me hooked on fantasy. You are the one I can debate physics theories with. You are the one who has also read every book Michael Crichton has ever written, and understands what I'm talking about. You are the one who's discipline I was REALLY afraid of...but only got when I REALLY deserved it. You are the one who looks out for me and my fragile teenage heart, threatening to disembowel the unlucky soul who breaks it. You are the one who makes the chocolate no-bake cookies. You are the one who barbecues all forms of meat on the grill. You are the one who taught me to drive a standard...in your precious baby of a Cobra, nonetheless. You are the one who knows how to fix all of my computer troubles. You are the one who takes me on a father-daughter date to see the latest sci-fi flick. You are the one who cut my cord and held me when I was first born. You are the one who has been proud of me and loved me when I could not do it myself. You are my da, my papa-bear, my Father. And I love you. Happy Father's Day!  |
