.....to say "HI".....haven't been here in a while....so, here's my life since last time i was here.....the office moved my desk so that now my boss is right behind me and can see anything i can do.....so, my internet time is once again limited.  ....plus, i'm a member on, like, 10 forums.....hence the reason i haven't been on here for a while......so, i've stopped by to say hello and to those i don't talk to regularly, hope your lives are going well.  |

Hey Shaz! Great to see you again. I'm in the same boat man.. My boss demoted me... moved my cubical next to his office and told me to stop chatting on IM during work or be fired. ooh. . .backstabbing. . .not cool. . .you should get that on a recording and take it to the head boss and say "look what's going on down there!" and see what they do. . .since you've been told it doesn't matter as long as you get your work done, I don't see there being a problem with your big boss knowing that you chat while you work.

Just be careful if you take Hinata's advice and make sure that your state has a one-party consent law; otherwise, recording someone without their knowledge makes your evidence legally inadmissable, and might (depending on your state) be a crime. |

Dinadan, it is illegal for me to do as Hinata suggested. Anything he tells me verbally, can be denied... and he as done so before.
This is office politics at it's best and I have to keep playing the game. I must say, after 8 years and missing the chopping block on 5 layoffs and 3 firings... I think I've learned the rules of the game pretty good.
