Hello All:
I am going to start opening the chat room on Sunday afternoons, and being in there until sometime late on Sunday nights (unless otherwise announced).
I hope this will help foster a renewed interest in the SRL community here.
best, dinadan

Sorry, all, for not having the chat last night. There was a bit of a situation that came up at my house yesterday afternoon. All's well, however, and we'll resume next week.
Thanks!

Also, it looks like I'm out this week too. I've got to work tomorrow afternoon after Church, so I won't be available to host the chat.
If someone else would like to do so, feel free, otherwise, we'll look to start back next week.
+Peace be with all of you,

A Long time ago when I went online one of the first things I did was go into a Chat room. It was suppose to be for Christians but everyone was arguing and cussing. It was quite a let down and I haven't been in a chat room since. (Fast forward a couple years.) I was listening to a sermon about the benefits of fasting to the Christian life. I'm on medication so I can't actually stop eating. It makes me faint. My Mother suggested that I 'fast' with something other than food. I decided that all day Sunday I would not touch my computer. It is a solemn promise to me. (Fast forward again) I discover that there is a Chat room on this site on Sundays. I've looked forward to making a more personal connection with some of you and an opportunity to discuss Stephen at length. Of course, it has to happen on the one day that I don't turn the computer on. I have the absolute worse luck. Of course this makes my fast more potent because it's really a sacrifice not to join you all. I do hope you have some good chats on Sunday and try and appreciate the opportunity to connect like this and make some friends. I wish you all the best. I'll be thinking of you. Love Maidryn

[pink]Maidryn[/pink], the chat room is always available. When Dinadan says the chat room is 'open' or 'closed,' he's just using his own personal definitions of those words: he's there or he's gone. It doesn't mean he locks the room and takes the key with him.
All you really need to do is let it be known in advance you'll be there at such-and-such a time, so that there will be a higher likelihood someone will pop in and join you. You could start your own thread here keeping us posted on when you'd like to be available for a chat, whether a regular time or varying from week to week.

That sounds like a really good idea but I've got low self-esteem and I'm scared that I'll send out an invite to meet me in chat and NO ONE WILL SHOW UP. I have to take enough rejection in real life let alone cyberspace. I don't know. Maybe I'll be able to summon enough courage to do it. I'll keep it in mind. you're all so sweet and I'd love to talk to you all in real time. Hmmmm?

Hi all!
Let's shoot for a little later than usual tomorrow night--say, about 8:00 PM central.
Hope to see everyone there!

Does anyone have a topic they'd like to kick around this Sunday evening?

The Sunday Evening Chats are back on!
This weekend, we're going to talk about the history of the Byzantine Empire, and how it relates to our favorite Celts and vikings.
Please join in!

I know this is an ancient thread (and i've done enough of reviving old threads tonight, i promise i'll stop ), but do these chats still take place anymore? I'd love to join in.
