I figured it would be polite to announce myself.

I was introduced to Lawhead's work by a Welsh ex-girlfriend. We shared an interest in King Arthur (me more the historical side and her more the mythological aspect) and she reccomended the three Pendragon books to me. I enjoyed them a lot and later read the other three ones, as well as Byzantium. Byzantium I also enjoyed, and as for the other three Pendragons...I suppose I'll save that for that section of the forum.

I'm assuming I differ from most people here in that I'm about as far from being a born-again Christian as it's possible to be. I never got the impression I was being preached to in any of his books, however, and I was impressed at the impartiality and fairness he gave to the non-Christian characters/peoples in his books. Although I noticed in the Pendragon books the good guys were all Christians and the bad guys were all pagans, and that the bad guys usually stopped being bad as soon as they converted, it wasn't as nearly black and white as most Christian-oriented pieces of work I could name.

That about wraps me up.

The religion in Lawhead's work has been a topic of interest on the forum recently. I could not have said it better myself. It is good to have a true opinion of just how appealing Lawhead is to readers of all beliefs.
