Hi! I'm gabi, single mommy to my beautiful 15mo old daughter, lila. I am so excited to have found this forum! I just started reading SRL books this summer; my mother was reading the Pendragon Cycle and encouraged me to pick it up, so I did and I couldn't stop reading it! I used to be an avid horror reader, mostly Stephen King and Dean Koontz; but since reading King's The Dark Tower series (which i HIGHLY recommend), my interests have shifted drastically to mythical history and the like. I'm hoping to get some advice on good authors and important stories to read! Hope to get to know you guys

Welcome, welcome! As for books to read, I can recommend all of Lawhead's books (except his Hero series which I haven't read.) For mythical history, read the Song of Albion series after the Pendragon series. Then, of course, you'll want to join our Albion House. But there's time for that. Explore and enjoy! We look forward to your posts!

Welcome to our happy home. Lots to see and participate in if you so desire. I'm sure you'll be able to find lots of additional authors besides SRL to keep you reading for a very long time. Let me know if you have any questions.

dantheman~ I read The Paradise War this summer, in between Pendragon books; I thoroughly enjoyed it! I am having a hard time getting into Grail, but I think it is the storyteller's POV and "writing style" I am having trouble with. Gwalchavad is, as he says, not a great writer I do like that Morgian's views are included, I have had a secret "love affair" ( )with her sense of danger and hatred since the beginning.

Morgian is creepy. But interesting. I'm glad I'll never meet her in a dark alley!! Merlin is my favorit book in that series, but I'm rereading Arthur right now. I have a greater appreciation for it this time around, though.

I really think that Taliesn was my favorite, but it's hard for me to really seperate them all now that I've read them! I only get to read for about a half hour a day because of my daughter, so it has taken me a while to read the series. They were all very good, which is why I'm sort of sad to be having a hard time with Grail. I think I'm coming around to it though.
Paradise War was excellent, I can't wait to read the others. There are 3 in total in that series, correct? Like movies, I can't read books more than once. The only books I've managed to read twice were The Color Purple and some book by Robin Cook, I don't even remember the name of it.

Welcome aboard, pun intended. I'm Daae, and I pop around now and then, so you may not see much of me. But welcome!
