Well, I've been posting a bit and figured that it might seem kind of rude to continue without introducing myself a bit. I was led to this board by my sister, Caitriona, because I started reading SRL novels back in high school and right now I've been hit hard with some homesickness. (I miss my home state of Nebraska especially now as we begin approaching fall since my husband and I probably won't get to go back for any of the holidays this year.) I have a BA and MS in Chemistry and used to be a college instructor back in Nebraska, but now I work as a federal contractor for the Dept. of Energy doing document reviewing. (yes, it is as boring as it sounds) So, to keep myself somewhat sane, I make up sci-fi and mystery stories related to the boring occurrences around me--almost like Walter Mitty. Maybe one day I will actually get them down on paper. The rest of my free time at home is spent playing with my two 'children' (two short-hair cats), bead work, knitting, crocheting, PS2, Gamecube, and way too much TV (justified by the knitting, crocheting, and beadworking). Oh, and I chose my screename here by finding the root of my birth name. It's not too hard to figure out what my first name is from it because it is a rather common American female name. Has anyone already figured it out?

Welcome aboard. I hope you enjoy your time here with us. I had a desk job that was really boring as well. Being an Engineer can be that way sometimes. I love Mitty. That was a great movie. I'm pretty sure I can guess your real name. It's Tease. *waves at Gwen*

Tease is good! But it's not Gwen. Actually the year I was born, my name was the number one choice for girl babies and Michael was the number one name for boy babies. So, I was never very original in my classes at school. In my graduating class of 29, there were 4 of us with the same first name! Gwenhwyfar is the Cornish origin of it and my sister informed me it was in the Arthur series by Lawhead (which I have yet to read). I chose it for a screename purely for it being the origin of my name.

Well. I feel a bit sheepish now. I figured your name to be Gwen. Silly me to assume it to be so simple. I guess I'll just have to do more hunting to determine what your real name is.

Welcome to the forum, Gwenhwyfar! Your name strikes me as being Welsh. Am I right?

It's either Jennifer or Jenna, right?
