Subutâ ollobo - Merry Meet, Gallic greetings... in old Gaulish
I joined yesterday having learned about this board on another. I am a big fan of mythic and historical fantasy which bring figures alive in ways reading the ancient sources cannot. Lawhead has been my favorite, since I picked up Taliesin (my muse) when it was 1st published.
Other authors I like who write this mode of fiction include Juliet Marillier, Stephen Grundy, Manda Scott, Marys Renault and Stewart, Morgan Llywelyn, Evangeline Walton... and of course JRR Tolkien. The War of the Rings really did happen!
My other interests include Celtic studies, Druidry, Science Fiction (write on, Stephen Baxter) and rural living. I live in the deep forests of the Ozarks, occasionally going to town to ear a copper or two.

Let me say 'welcome' to you again. I hope you find yourself at home here.
By the way...your name...is a variant of the Horned Lord's name, is it not?

Welcome, welcome! It's nice to see another person who prefers rural life over the city.

Welcome aboard. Are you deep in the ozarks or on the fringes? Fun place to waterski.
