You're into Christian hardcore? Ever heard of a band called "the Showdown"?

I'm Amos. I just finished High School. I first read Lawhead's SOA Trilogy when there was a clearance of 'em by a book vender at a convention thing in Chicago (a buck a book!). I read all kinds of stuff, mainly fantasy though. I'm really into videogames and music too, among other things (God being perhaps a given?). I like to post at good message boards, and so you find me here, the board of one of my favorite fantasy authors! p.s. If ya want pics, check here - groups.msn.com/christianhardrockhaven/amosstuff.msnwWelcome Amodman! Nice pics. I can't believe you got those books for a buck! That's one of the best bargains I've ever heard of. (I bought a 1954 hardcover of The Hobbit in mint condition for $17 once...) Anyway, I'm glad to have you aboard! I'm in Peoria, so you're not too far from where I live... I think that makes 3 of us from Illinois now.

Best superhero mythos of all time: Green Lantern. Scoffers beware...the Ring is the most powerful weapon in the universe.
A close second, however, in the DC/Vertigo universe (I really love Books of Magick and Hellblazer).

Thought I'd introduce myself here, since I've posted a few times elsewhere. Real name's Josh, I live in Pennsylvania USA. I'm 26, married, 3 kids with a fourth on the way (and I adore them all). 3 boys, 1 girl if anyone's interested. And 2 of them are twins. Fraternal. Professionally I am a computer and network analyst, but unfortunately work in this region is hard to come by. My real passion is being creative - writing, directing, that sort of thing. I've written and directed several of my own plays, took them on summer tours, etc. (In fact I borrowed a few names: Meldron, Scatha, and Caledon all appeared as a tribute to my favorite author.) Namesake Entertainment, a Christian film company, currently has film versions of this play and have expressed an interest in doing them in the future. In addition to plays, I run a script-based series based on Star Trek called Frontiers. We release weekly episodes just like the television show - the only difference is, instead of watching an episode you read it, in script format. Also editing my first novel after a pretty successful beta run. Hopefully something will come of that! My non-writing hobbies include web design, Star Trek, video games (yes, a father of 4 who still loves his Gamecube and PS2), and of course reading. I also am working on starting up a videography business within the next twelve - sixteen months and might even do a few short films. That's me in a nutshell. A very big nutshell. ;D

Wow grimm, that's impressive.
I, too, and a heinously absurd star trek fan (although I really diskliked Voyager and abhor Enterprise). You're interests sound pretty cool.

Always nice to bump into another Trek fan. If you need a good fix, check out our site. We're halfway through our second "season" now.

Seems like we have a lot in common. I'm a WAN Admin and work is hard to find here as well. I love Star Trek and I've used names from Lawhead's stories for our network passwords. Great to have you aboard! Welcome to the forum.
