I love starting this thread on messageboards I'm a part of because it always nets me something new!
Anyway, alot of boards I've subscribed to in the past have always had a thread where people could randomly list what music they might be listening to at any given time- on music forums it was a way to share music we thought was great. It was a way to condense all of our music threads into one as well.
Generally we listed two or three bands or atists and gave a small description of them and where thier music might be (legally) sampled; i.e. myspace, purevolume or amazon, etc. Although, you can list as much or as little information as you want (maybe just the band name and album name).
So, here's my first contribution...
Eluveitie - Spirit
Celtic Metal band from Switzerland. They have a pretty diverse sound, and get lots of use out of irish whistles, flutes, the uilleann pipes, the bodhran, and hurdy-gurdy.
The majority of thier songs pertain to Celtic myth, history, and attitude (mixing the European mainland and Isles cultures).
The vocals are a nice mix of the standard metal growls and clean female vocals (some of the songs featuring the female vox more than the male growls).
Tracklist for this particular album:
1. "Spirit"
2. "Uis Elveti"
3. "Your Gaulish War"
4. "Of Fire, Wind & Wisdom"
5. "Aidû"
6. "The Song Of Life"
7. "Tegernakô"
8. "Siraxta"
9. "The Dance Of Victory"
10. "The Endless Knot"
11. "AnDro"
Music samples and more info can be found here:

My second reccomendation:
Psalters - Divine Liturgy Of The Wretched Exiles
This is a Christian world music band who consider themselves modern-day psalmists. Thier lyrics are all God-glorifying; thier only purpose ministry. The music it's self is a mix of Middle Eastern, American folk, Jewish, and a hundred other sources. Some songs sound like they came straight out of Arabia, some sound like slave hymns of the American south, some are unplaceable. For someone whose not accustomed to world music it might take some getting used to.
You can listen to thier music here:
www.myspace.com/psalters
You can get thier cd here:
psalters.org
They give thier cd's to anyone who asks for one for free, but appreciate donations.
