A movie about sewers that everyone but karenee will enjoy! (Although, maybe she will later when her place doesn't smell like the sewer anymore...)
Honestly, a bit of the humor is kind of crude. After all, it's in a sewer. So expect the typical farts, belches, and an overwhelming number of unfortunate circumstantial shots to the poor guy's groin. (And when I say groin, I truly mean groin...there are no sexual or even gender specific implications to the pain...it just plain old looks like it hurts!)
However, I only say the previous to discourage those who truly do not want to see or do not want their kids to see that type of humor. It is there, but it makes up only a mere fraction of the laughs. There is absolutely no sexual content or even innuendo that I picked up on, much less my 7 year old. And the crude humor fits into the storyline quite well, for the most part. It's not just there just to be there.
And it is FUNNY! I was laughing so hard a couple times, I thought the kids in the theater were going to tell me to shut up. (Wouldn't that be a switch?) There's also a couple GREAT cracks about the French, which is always a good way to split my sides. My favorite was,
Anyway, I'm getting a bit sidetracked. The animation is great. And when I say that, I don't mean the animators did a good job. I mean they used the animation well. So often the funny stuff is said, and the character movements are simply built around it in animated movies. But this was done so well, the slapstick and "farce humor" was much funnier and much more believable than normal.
All in all, I would definitely recommend it to anyone who either likes a little crude humor, or at least doesn't let it ruin the experience for them.
The only red flag was a short blurb (a few seconds) about a chosen one coming from the sky to save them. It could have been a reference to Christ or to the Matrix or something else...I'm not sure, but it could be offensive to some. Although, it was so short and such an insignificant part of the movie that it is easily ignored.
Flushed Away...go with a sense of humor and you will not be disappointed!

There are these frogs that are French, about to fight the mice. The lead frog yells, "To action!" And all his buddies throw up their hands and yell, "We surrender!"
Oh man, I am still smiling ear to ear remembering that scene.Anyway, I'm getting a bit sidetracked. The animation is great. And when I say that, I don't mean the animators did a good job.
