Saw this today and enjoyed it. Somewhat darker than the first. I'm definately looking forward to number 3, but wouldn't recommend this one for the kids.

Thanks! I'm glad to have a report that confirms I should not bring my daughter...

It really depends on how old your daughter is and if she scares easily. There's some pretty scary stuff if you're under 12 or so. In fact, my wife was grossed out by several aspects of this film.

amazing. . so many funny scenes. . .like The whole dangling in the cages and swinging to get it over and then the entire chase. I couldn't stop laughing. Jack's nicely done seasoning was funny too I really loved the movie though

I didn't like it as much as the first... and I can't say enough how much I dislike the acting performances of Orlando Bloom and Kiera Knightly, any movie they're in. But I still liked it.

I really enjoyed the film. It was darker than the first movie but that fit what was going on in the story.
I eagerly await the next film to see how they wrap things up.
I rarely if ever watch a movie and evaluate the acting. I go purely for enjoyment and unless the acting and story are pure junk, I don't pay much attention to them.

See, that's where I wish I was like you. Acting, for me, makes the movie. If the actors are bad, I don't like the movie, if they do a good job, I'll like it (with a few exceptions to both, of course)

Okay...well, I didn't like PoC2, and I really don't like Johnny Depp in any movie. However, Orlando Bloom is one of my favorites...I guess I don't understand why Cynan doesn't like him. Although, cree doesn't like Nicolas Cage and I like Nicolas, so I don't understand sometimes why one actor is disliked over another.
Of course I have actors and actresses I don't like as well...but that's not the point here is it? LOL!
The point is PoC2. I didn't like the movie over all. The whole undead thing just creeps me out. I didn't like PoC1, so it stands to reason I wouldn't like the second one. I had nightmares last night over it and I hope I dont' have any tonight. And can I just say it? I'm so not looking forward to the third one.
Next time, we're going to chick flick with a happy ending.

I understand what you mean Cynan. I don't know how it is that I can approach movies the way I do but that's just me.
I hope the nightmares go away dancer. I've watched movies that have done that to me and had it last for over a month. That was a long time ago but I still remember those feelings.
We all have our actors and actresses that make a movie or don't make it just by being in the film.
I guess for me this film had some dark stuff and light stuff in it that was a good mixture. There was more humor in the first film but this still had enough to give me some laughs. I imagine the third will have some as well, even though it will be a little dark.
Oh yeah. Not all chick flicks have happy endings but the vast majority do. Good luck finding one to watch.

I enjoyed the second one a lot. Except for the end, because now I have to go see the third one. But I was going to go see it anyway, so it's not a big deal. A bunch of my friends and I met at the drive in to see it the night it opened (it was kind of a Grease moment, since we all just graduated high school).
Now I have to see Superman Returns and The Lake House.

Ohhh. I haven't seen Superman Returns yet but I've seen The Lake House. It's very... Open a different thread to discuss. [/color]

Hah. Cute spoiler, Dred. For me the undead thing is just too unrealistic to take seriously. I have been to movies that had more "possible" demonic type stuff, and one that drove me out of the theater because it was just too distorted and unbalanced. (I find it hard to watch shows that show evil as more powerful than good, because it just isn't true...and the concept always creeps me out.) I have the feeling that the good guys will vanquish evil somehow at the end of this story, though...so I actually enjoy watching to see what will happen.

Of course the good guys are going to win in the end! But we can't make it easy for them, can we? Then there would be no story.

I enjoyed the movie. Obviously is wasn't like the first but then I thought came to mind. I think its a bit like the LotR trilogy. The first movie is quite good as a stand alone and grasps the audience for the first time. The second is difficult because the writers now have a greater range in dialogue choices since they arn't tied down with having to devlop the character as in the first movie. So without such clear writing goals, the sequals don't contain the same magic. Anyway, this one is a lot like the Two Towers, it got darker and was a launching board for the 3rd movie and explored some unexplained details from the first. The third one will be interesting if my theory holds true. I was a little dissappointed that it didn't hold the same sense of adventure as the first movie even though the plot was ripe for it. Orlando I didn't find quite as annoying as in the first one and Keira's was all right... however I attribute her lack performance on the writing... some of those lines just don't work well when spoken. Depp... did his job as an actor Anyway, I know I'll go see it again, and own the dvd the day it comes out.
