My dad and I just watched the new King Kong, and it was pretty good, although a bit too long (normally I don't mind long movies, but honestly, do we really need 30 minutes of Kong fighting T-rexes?). But we got a kick out of all the little references to the original King Kong. I really think that the movie is more enjoyable if you've seen the original first.

*laugh* It was a fictitious nature show mixed with an action movie...interesting, but a little overdone. One missed nothing by fast-forwarding through 2/3 of the battle, climbing, chasing and fleeing scenes. *wonders if she should confess having done just that*

It was worth having seen, but I don't think I ever need to see it again.

I actually enjoyed it. I've familiar with sitting through scenes that can drag out but honestly I didn't feel that way about this movie. Perhaps it is just my way of viewing a movie but I felt the progression followed along similar lines as the original and actually included more that brought a certain quality to the film that I liked.

Oh, I liked it, I just thought it could be a little shorter. Although I did like the scene they added with Kong and Anne on the ice. It was cute, and a nice reprieve from destruction and chaos.
