So, I saw Abbey Washburn live back in December...and ever since I've been a little obsessed. The music she is making is so complete off the mainstream wall that some people are just put off by the concept without giving it a listen. She's into American Bluegrass-Mandarin Chinese fusion stuff. I know, I know, that sounds like the most insane concoction ever--but really, it's beautiful beyond compare. I know there are some people on here that like folk/ethnic music. Give Abbey a whirl. You can listen FOR FREE streams of selections from the album at the following website: www.nettwerk.com/player/abigailwashburn/abiwa_player.htmlShe was a great live performer as well. If you catch her name floated around somewhere, make the effort to go see her. ((And, for those intersted in Bluegrass fusion, she's got the seal of approval from Bela Fleck of the Flecktones, who produced her album))

She's pretty cool ... Single drop of honey was my favorite I think (have to listen again to be sure) Eve stole... was pretty cool too. Anyway, I love A String Cheese Incident (ever heard of em)? Upon a second go through it was Eve stole the apple that was my favorite...definitely a cool song.

"Eve Stole the Apple" "Sometimes" and "The Lost Lamb" are definitely my favorite tracks off the album.
She's great. I really love it.
I have heard The String Cheese Incident, but it was live and some years ago. If I'm not mistaken, they played the Five Points Music Hall in Birmingham (before it was closed down), so it may have been there. OR, it could've been in Tuscalloosa at The Jupiter or at Workplay. I don't remember much about their sound though; I think they were an opener for another band I was seeing.
