Has any one watched this show. It's filmed in my home town so I started watching it to spot locations, and I fell in love. For those of you who don't know, Smallville is the story of Clark Kent and his life in high school before becoming Superman.

LOL I used to catch it when I could. I kept missing it because it airs on Wednesday, AWANA night for the kids. Now, every time I see it I wish I had seen it all the way through because I'm missing so much backstory.

I couldn't get into it, mostly because the producers of the show don't mind screwing up Superman continuity when they feel like it.

Well, it only got boring because I missed alot when I was moving. When I finally started watching again it was to confusing and it looked like the plot had gotten weird so I just stopped watching it altogether.

Chrys, i've watched it from the very beginning......it's such a shame this coming season is going to be it's last.....it's a great show, even though it doesn't follow too much with the Superman comics......that's awesome that it's filmed right near you.....maybe you can give Allison Mack my phone number if you happen to see her. ......she's such a cutie.

sorry, I don't know her, but I do know where the smallville house is! I actually know where most locations are. I am really going to miss it when it's done, but there are the box sets of DVD's to make me happy

My roommate and I got bored after exams and rented the first season The writers have a fun sense of humor; the signs in the background are often amusing, as well as the little superman jokes they throw in (I liked Roswell more.)

I was really into Smallville at one time (I'm a minor Superman fan,) but life got in the way of my viewing schedual, and after a while I realized that each episode was built around a caressing nude shot of some sort. Just my p.o.v.
And then I discovered Lost
One thing I did love was Lex. The story of how someone becomes a super-villain is almost more interesting than the story of how someone else becomes a super-hero. Besides, his friendship with Clark was the most intreguing part of the show, to me (and continuity can just suffer for it.)

Besides, his friendship with Clark was the most intreguing part of the show, to me (and continuity can just suffer for it.) I agree the nude stuff is unnecessary. Well, there's never any nudity per se, but there are risque scenes at times. It's more like 2-5ish scenes per season than every episode. I still like the show, a lot. Some season are better than others. Season 1 had a lot of character building; the pilot was amazing. 2 and 3 were both fairly good. 4 was about witchcraft - pretty weird. 5 was good but depressing at the end. 6 was amazing. I haven't seen season 7 yet. Lex is great. However, there are some other characters that really stood out to me. I usually like episodes that bring out Clark's capacity for evil. My favorite episodes involve other super heros like Oliver Queen, Bionic Boy, that flash kid, etc. ************ Has anyone noticed religious and philosophical inferences in Smallville? The need for a savior for the world is a central Superman theme. At first, I assumed that it was Christian symbolism, but now I think the symbolism is actually based off Nietzsch's concept of the Superman: the leader that guides us into a new morality and future once we discover God is dead. I'm not implying there are many deep messages; Smallville is about entertainment. I just couldn't help wondering about the original meaning behind the Superman comics.

The later seasons don't seem all that good. They're going away from the Superman Mythology too much. Introducing characters that shouldn't be there....
