I saw this Saturday night at a really late showing but I thought we could have a discussion on what people thought about the movie.
I enjoyed it quite a bit. There were some scenes that left we saying this film certainly was meant for a more grown up audience. A few parts that wouldn't have been very good for kids. The battle scenes were pretty cool. A little busy at some points but pretty good nontheless.
Some of the dialogue was cheesy but it didn't ruin the movie for me at least. I imagine I'll have to watch all six films in a row after this last one comes out on DVD.

Perhaps my opinion will change in a few months when I see it again, but I was disappointed. It was definitely an improvement over the last two, but it was still generally a mess of bad writing, bad acting, and more time spent on flashy cinematics rather than on developing the story. The thing that bothered me the most was the fact that Padme died in childbirth. Leia is supposed to remember her mother. Do we see a problem with this? A few parts of it I enjoyed, such as the Jedi Purge. It was beautiful, visually, and the music, of course, was fantastic.

I was talking with my wife about the exact thing you mention regarding Leia. I believe her statement was that she was beautiful and sad. She remembered images and feelings. It is possible that being gifted with the force has allowed her to remember these things even as an infant. I know this is stretching things quite a bit but it is possible.

Overall I enjoyed the movie, although I will always love the original better because the dialogue is so much better. And I love the Han Solo character, and in the new movies they seem to miss a character like him.

I have to agree completely. There is nothing like the original three films. In my mind they will always be better overall compared to the most recent films.
