I was wondering, whenever I post the url for the pic I want as my avatar, it doesn't add it on to my profile. How do I get that to work?

If you're doing the following, and it isn't working, post back and tell just what you are entering (how you're typing the url or filling in any other blanks) and how it behaves (any error message or anything like that), and perhaps troubleshooting can take up from there: Since you've got a 'personal text' showing up, I presume you know how to access and modify your profile. If you are wanting to use an avatar that you have uploaded at some hosting site, like Photobucket, make sure it is one that would work / look alright in the 100 x 100 pixel box to which avatars are limited here. As a matter of courtesy to others, your hosted image should not be some honkin' 3 MB file; it would take an aggravating forever to download onto others' computers, and then it would just show up as a little thumbnail anyway. If your image is a large file, post a resized (downsized) version of the file at the hosting site. And, btw, it needs to be a pic hosted somewhere, not one that still resides only on your computer. Now, having chosen 'Modify Profile' -- For 'Avatar' choose 'None' in the pull-down menu, since you don't want to use any of the ones provided. For 'Avatar URL' enter the full address of the hosted image. Be sure to include the http:// at the beginning; don't just start with www. So you should be entering something like i6.photobucket.com/albums/z123/reguba/myavvy.jpgFor 'Avatar Width' and 'Avatar Height' enter numbers that don't exceed 100. These are numbers of pixels. If your image is square and you want it to be as big as allowed, enter 100 for both values. If the image is not square, you might want to play around with those numbers so the image is not distorted when it displays. At the bottom of the page, click on the 'Modify Profile' button. Check the result in your profile and either dance or tell us it didn't work.

Try what Tegid has suggested and if you still have problems, let us know.
Thanks Tegid.

Thanks, that helped. In case any are wondering, the pic is of Anarion, Isildur's brother, who was killed at the Siege of Baradur in the year 3434 of the Second Age of Middle-Earth. He was killed by a falling stone from Baradur.

Sweet pic and choice. I love Middle Earth and all things tied to it.
