Please pray for our friends in Texas and thereabouts as Hurricane Rita may hit there. I don't know what else to say than, "PLEASE PRAY!"

I second that motion. There will be a large number of people hit by this hurricane. Let's home that they get themselves to safety.

As we pray for the people of Texas, we still need to keep the other states that got hit by Katrina in our prayers as well. They are saying Louisiana could get a lot of heavy rain out of Rita. That would just add to the flooding that they are still enduring.

I just heard that as well. Let's pray that it loses strength before making landfall.

I certainly hope it loses strength before hitting land. Nobody really needs this type of stress.

Maybe it'll just go back to a tropical storm if it behaves correctly. . .*Hopes it loses most it's power before hitting land* That area just doesn't need that

Rita has played itself out, and it's now a bunch of rainy weather headed generally toward twyrch's and dinadan's area. The strength of the storm as it made landfall was much, much less than than it was earlier feared to be, and I thank all of you for praying for that! There was flooding in the coastal area at the Louisiana/Texas border, and wind damage over a wider area. Enough rain fell in and around New Orleans to weaken a levee and cause some reflooding there.
All things considered, the evacuation most likely saved many lives. If you will, please continue to pray for those affected by the flooding and damage. There are yet many needs.
Please remember to thank God now for his grace and mercy in answering our requests. (Think about how Jesus marveled after he healed ten lepers, and only one came back to thank him).
