I think the one and only shot I'm going to be able to take at this question comes from an Unspoken Sermon titled "Kingship" --
With reference to Jesus, concerning Pilate's question to him, "Art thou a king, then?" GM says that the most perfect empire would be a thing not to be desired to rule over, just so long as he might be able to "teach one human being to love his neighbour, and be good like his father! To be love-helper to one heart, for its joy, and the glory of his father, was the beginning of true kingship!"

"one who ruled for the good of his people and not to please himself." As for silver or money, he would want it, "not to buy rich things for himself, but to help him to govern the country, and pay the ones that defended it [ . . . ] and the judges whom he set to portion out righteousness among the people, that they might learn it themselves, and come to do without judges at all."

They were much too afraid of the goblins to let her out of the house then, even in company with ever so many attendants

The answer is Undine found in his Fantastic Imagination. Anyway here is a new question: When did the princess find herself surrounded by doors?

On a rainy day when she was feeling very miserable and bored, she went through a seldom-used door from the nursery and up three flights of stairs, to find passageways with very many doors. Eventually, she found one open door that led to more stairs and a landing in a tower, and there she encountered her great-great-grandmother.
