Noticeably new to the boards and I thought I'd introduce myself rather than just posting away like some sort of heathen.
My name is Justin (hence Iestyn), but friends tend to call me England since I used to live there and people aren't very imaginative when it comes to nicknames.
The first Lawhead book I ever read was actually Hood; I found an advance paperback copy at the Goodwill (complete with press release-type letters) and thought it sounded like something I would like. I read it in about a week and quickly went looking for more, which lead me to the local bookstore, which is unusually crummy, but which happened to have the entire Song of Albion trilogy. I had to stay my hand to keep from buying parts two and three at the same time after reading Paradise War. As things are, I'm a voracious reader when I find something I like. It took me about a week or two with Silver Hand and then 3 days (a long, rainy weekend) for The Endless Knot.
I think I'm going to go after Patrick next, though I'll have to order it since I've exhausted the poor local booksellers.
Anyway, that's my spiel.

Welcome to the boards. I think you'll find the rest of his books to be very enjoyable as well. They all have a little something different to bring to the table to satisfy your appetite for reading.
I look forward to seeing you around the boards and please post your thoughts on anything and everything.

Hi, England! Props for using the word "crummy", and welcome!
It's no secret that Patrick is my favorite SRL book. It's definetely worth the read. Or, if you're feeling young again, try the Dragon King Trilogy. I thoroughly enjoyed those.

Pick up pretty much anything Lawhead and you won't be disappointed. Just because he improved a bit over time and has covered multiple subjects, one of which will probably thrill you more than the others, doesn't mean any of his work isn't worth reading. I even recommend his children's books (with such heroes as stuffed rabbits and ducks) if you're the sort who finds enjoyment of a well-told tale no matter the age group for which it was intended.

Thank you all for the kind welcome!
An unplanned trip to a Barnes and Nobles in another town netted me Byzantium, which I hope to read, or at least start reading next weekend. So I suppose that's my next destination.
I would have bought Patrick, but they didn't have any copies in stock.
They did however have the entire Pendragon cycle, which might be where I head after Byzantium if I procrastinate and don't order Patrick online like I'm planning to first.

Sorry for the latness of my welcome but that hardly makes it less sincere.
I have a tough time grasping, getting one book at a time. Generally when I hit a subject I go whole hog and just buy as many as I can. The few times I have just bought a single book in the series, when I go back to get the sequel, its out of stock, and that just drives me crazy so I have to collect them all =P But then again, I'm sure my own personality has a lot to do with it as well besides the convienent factor.
Hope to read more from you as you post here.
