Hey dinadan, I like your stuff man. Especially, "Bring me back from the first to the last."(i wasn't sure what the title was or if it had one) Hey twyrch,I liked your stuff too, especially "Love one Another." Yours are the only two whose poems I read as I browsed this thread. So, all you other poets I would love your input too. I was hoping you all could give me some constructive criticism on some of my own work. I have posted three in the Poem thread and here is another three: (I put smiley faces by their titles)
Struggling
Tired and frustrated, Feeling alone
Trying trusting, Giving up my load
Looking upward, trying to let go
Surrendering slowly, what do I know?
Loving, caring, giving so much
Longing, sharing, oh sweet gentle touch
Spirit, fire, water, surround
Dove, beauty, holiness drown
Welcome death, crucifixion, humiliation; trust
Life everlasting free and abundant
Sweet Savior, holy God come
Legal friend, my counselor, holy one
Oh, light of heaven come(s) from above
While I lay dead in the dust
Every lust crucified, every passion crushed
Every will surrendered, broken till given over to complete trust
Substitution given for my sake
So much given, so much to take
Will I surrender as I must as I will
Shall I die now forsaking all but thy will
Or shall I refuse, and take my joy with my pain now
Will I die two deaths and burn in hell?
Will I have my joy with my pain in thy holy name
Or will I die now and later and be ashamed?
Truth
The one absolute
Rational in a divine sort of way
Utterly beyond fully understanding
That’s just the way it is
Happy is the man who figures out he doesn’t know everything.
Brown
Brown
The color of my eyes
Brown
The flesh of trees and their sap
As I brush past I realize it’s
Brown
The color of my hair
Brown
The dust from which I came
The hike feels like a family reunion
Brown
The color of my excrement
Brown
The mud in which I play
The rest was worth the wait
Brown
The color of my roots
Brown
Family tree: God and Mother Nature
The view a top this mountain—awesome
Brown
The sweat upon my brow
Brown
A revelation that one day I’ll return
A sobering reality.
So, what do you think?
