I'm not too sure of how the translator actually works. My real name, Nathan (Hebrew: Gift of God) Hunter (Scottish, pretty self-evident) Under this cool little gadget becomes "Cathan Flaherty". Looking up name meanings, Cathan = "Battle" & Flaherty = "A man of chieftain-like exploits". So I've moved from God-given Hunter to Battle Chieftain. Not an unreasonable match...

I thought this topic was very delightful, so I also decided to make it my very first post on this forum. Using my screen name (which is the Cornish version of my first name) and my maiden name, I get Conchobarre Mochrie which I really quite like!

this is pretty cool...i've done this generator for my elvish, hobbit and star wars names (yes, i am that big of a nerd, but its ok) and now i am proud to add my Gaelic name to it. it is Deirbhile Logan. if only i could pronounce it...sigh.

Sure thing! "Deirbhile" is roughly pronounced, [Dare Vee Luh]. I'm sure Logan is pronounced as normal. Hope that helps.
