Recently I noticed that I give names to many things, for instance my car is an acura and her name is "Acky" what sort of names do you give to everday things?

We used to call our Crown Victoria "Vicky". But Vicky gave her life to save our house (long amazing story) so we speak of her (along with any other 2 ton car) with great affection. My husband calls anyone that our friend Nate is dating "whats-her-head". He also calls his dulcimer his "doo-klamer" which is really annoying since the word dulcimer is such a pretty word.

well, It would count if your son's an inanimate object! I know lots of little Kids and all of them move so fast you can barely see them. But hey I love hearing nicknames as well...Bring it on!

I used to call my friends piggy - as in hi piggy. But they all thought I was calling them fat, so I changed it to ducky. I like piggy better

I refer to just about anything as whatchamacallit, thingamajig, hoodag, or thingamabopper. (see thread regarding Wisconsin dialect)

I called my stuffed bear Brat...
I usually call inanimate objects junk or just-stuff.
Oh, we have often told our car that it's engines are running on squirrel power....does that count?

Hmm. . .I once had an imaginary car that ran on Gerbil power. . .that car flew. . .*sighs*
And then my family always says that cars run with hamsters. . .we yell at people to put the hamster back in the wheel when they go really far below the speed limit. . .like 20 MPH in a 40 MPH zone.
