I would have said sexton, but that's essentially just a more general name for what twyrch's answer was.

Sexton is the occupation I was looking for. I apologize, twyrch. A sexton is a grave digger at a church cemetery. I was half asleep when I replied to your message and didn't give you the credit you deserved.
You're up, Twyrch!
(thank you Tegid for the 'heads up')

Wow! I'm soooooo very sorry this thread has died because of me. I normally don't participate in the Trivia, since technically, I'm "house nuetral"... I only do so when it gets slow and needs a bump. When I was told I was wrong, I just never got back into the thread, so I apologize for dragging this out for two weeks.
I'm going to let the other mods know that this trivia should continue on through January, due to my oversight. Here's the next question:
What institute of higher eduction did Mr. Vane graduate from in the book, Lillith

In Phantastes, what was it that the narrator set out to find, and what did he come back rejoicing that he had lost?

For what two reasons did the "happy woman like" young man leave town once he had returned to his native country?

His money was running out and there was little or nothing he could do or be trained to do in his seaport town. He left to seek manual labor, partly because he felt that sort of job wouldn't require a character check, and partly because he thought that hard physical labor would tend to lessen his inward suffering.
