Hey all, this is a thread to reminisce over our childhoods.
So, let me think, one of my favorite toy back in the day was the easy bake oven.

GI Joes, Transformers, Legos, Smurfs, Superfriends, Dukes of Hazard. Hmmm. I'm sure I'll think up some more. The older stuff seems a lot better than the stuff today.

I remember when I was a baby my uncle sat me down in front of Star Wars. My second earliest memory is an ewok Then the next time I watched Star Wars I relised I'd already seen it sometime before, but I was a baby then so I had no idea what happened. But I still knew what an ewok was. Boosh, small furry balls of empire destroying oddness.

The big fad at school when I started kindergarten was slap bracelts. They were the currency of status; the more you had, the cooler you were.
OH, and I still remember owning a pair of M.C. Hammer-esque parachute pants as a 6 year old--again, because they were "cool."
Pretty much, the late 80s and early 90s were an insane time.

I wish I still had my He-man and the Masters of the Universe toys--I had lots of the ones that are worth tons of $ today, but mom got rid of all of them years ago....

I remember pretty much everything people have been talking about but I don't recall the Romper Stompers very well.

LOL Top this! I remember building a miniature mud stove, building a fire and boiling baby potatoes in a tin pot with my Quechua friends. New potatoes with butter and salt...ummm. Somehow, even fresh potatoes don't have that flavor here. Bolivia must not have exported that particular breed yet. We used to ford the river on the way home, the only way to get to our valley. In the rainy season, it was hard to tell whether it would be safe, because flash floods ripped out the river bed and the road had to be moved regularly. Several times, we got about a third of the way across and water started slapping at the doors of the jeep. Dad decided we were so far that we were committed and gunned the jeep to get through, hoping it wouldn't foul up the engine. At one point, I think the water was 2/3 of the way up the door. Dad says it went in the window once. Once across, Dad would always brake repeatedly on our way up the hill to dry out the brakes so they would catch before we got to the cliff-up-cliff-down parts of the road. Oh, the flash floods were cool. I remember laying in bed listening to the grinding roar of the river. I could hear the massive boulders, some as big as a large truck, as they rumbled and thudded, pushed by the rush of the water. We would go out the next morning to see the rocky bed of the river completely changed. It was incredible!

Karenee, I think I saw that episode of MacGyver too! Just kidding. I am envious of your exciting childhood. Somehow, playing with Transformers just doesn't compare.
