Yeah, dgan. Petra rocks!!! It's a pity that they finished this year after 33 great years of rock. And I never was able to see them live . Yeah, I love the oldies( don't know newer things than "This means war" or "Back to the street")! Though John Schlitt is a great singer I prefer Greg X Volz. All albums belong to my dad but in the last weeks they didn't leave my room . I'm searching for "Beat the system" because I know that we have it but can't find it . I think " Kenanniah" and "This means war" are with Schlitt as lead singer but the others are with Volz, you're right.

The past decade, petra didn't put out my favorite stuff. I think they just lost a bit of something when Bob Hartman semi-retired. No Doubt was the last album I think that was really awesome. Some good songs on that album. Of the older albums, I like Beat the System, On Fire!, Back to the Street, This Means War, Beyond Belief, Not of This World and the first Petra Praise (brings tears to my eyes every time and I've listened to it literally hundreds of times). Right now, I'm like Lostprophets - Rooftops (see avvy). Not sure what message they are trying to send but I like it the way I interpret it. Also, Panic Channel with Why Cry. I'm not missing anyone or sad about breaking up or anything, but I still like the song. Has a good sound.

Dido- Thank You has been on repeat for the last uh...however long it's been since I posted in the Word Games song thread. Except I think I might eventually get enough of it...perhaps, soon. We'll see.

I recently discovered the Weird Al song "The Night Santa Went Crazy". It's so morbid and twisted and just plain wrong, and yet so funny. And on the other end of the scale, my sister just bought the new Superchick cd and I really like the songs "Anthem" and "Stand in the Rain". Very good songs.

Pillar - "Everything"
-- Can't you feel that there is something That is burning up inside I don't know what it means But there's something that I ain't tried It feels like me against the nations And it’s something I can't hide I don't care if you believe me ‘Cause it’s burning me alive I tell you
Nothing comes that easy Nothing comes for free Something comes from nothing If you're willing to believe Everything has meaning Everything we see Are you willing To give up everything
You don't need a revelation To open up your mind Break down all your reasons Leave them all behind ‘Cause it takes faith for moving mountains And strength to walk the line Your apology accepted And there's nothing you can hide Believe me
Time will tell --

I"m such a huge fan of music in general, and such a musician, that songs run through me very quickly. i.e., i can have something like five songs stuck in my head at once, and switch back and forth between them all day.
At the moment the two artists I'm most infatuated with are Story of the Year and Imogen Heap. The songs I can't get out of my head, therefore, are:
The Walk, by Imogen Heap Until the Day I Die, by Story of the Year
btw, glad to see Pillar and TFK fans among us. Had a chance to see TFK live just a few weeks ago. Great show.
