I know dinadan is into some music, but how 'bout the rest o' ya? I really like rock...but my tastes range in a lot of things. I'd say the only things I really don't like is all rap songs, country songs, super pop or generic christian singer songs (ie. britney spears, rebecca st. james [yes, I put them in the same crappy category, lol], etc), and songs with all hardcore vocals. Anyways, I'll just start the thread by putting up my list of bands I'm into -
Acceptance All-American Rejects Anberlin Chevelle Day of Fire Dead Poetic Disciple Falling Up Fighting the Fall Five Iron Frenzy Flyleaf FM Static Good Charlotte Hoobastank Jimmy Eat World Jonah33 Kids In The Way My Chemical Romance Pillar P.O.D. Relient K Roper Seventh Day Slumber Seventh Seal Skillet Slingshot 57 Spoken Subseven Supertones Switchfoot Taking Back Sunday The Used Thousand Foot Krutch Time Spent Burning Yellowcard
edit: Added My Chemical Romance and The Used to my list - two bands I've been debating whether or not to add recently. I don't know if I'll ever shell out the cash for one of their cd's with others ahead of their place in line...but they do make pretty good music.

Music...the one universal language.
Music is a huge part of my life. I play several instruments, and I love almost all genres. Rock, Classical, New Age, Country, Celtic, Techno, Jazz, Motown, Oldies, basically, anything but rap and pop.
I especially love Disney soundtracks and Broadway shows. Some of my favorite artists/bands are:
Josh Groban Charlotte Church Enya Howard Baer Dermot O'Brien Linkin Park Shania Twain Faith Hill Beethoven Mozart Barber John Williams Howard Shore The Monkees The Beatles Simon and Garfunkle Bread The Association Aretha Franklin Marvin Gaye Fountains of Wayne Toby Keith Keith Urban Kenny Chesney Lee Ann Womack Brian Adams Chicago Phil Collins Savage Garden Elvis Presley The Four Seasons The Turtles
As you can see, my tastes are ecclectic, and I've probably left a lot of people out who I will add later.

I don't listen to music much. Mostly Phantom of the Opera, LotR soundtracks, and some RayNCo (he's an Indonesian guy who does neat Christian music).

Bookwyrm and dinadan...wow, those lists are random, lol. I feel like I'm getting a feel for the type of music you like and then there's 10 other completely opposite things, lol. Personally, I'm finding it funny so far how freaking different all our lists our.
Cynan - you need more cd's...lol.

I don't spend enough time online to download, and since I'm graduating I'm saving up for a car and a laptop. every penny helps, even if it means listening to the same songs over and over... ;D

I admit it, I download like a maniac...but, trading cds with friends, then ripping them to your computer, really helps.

I guess I'm much more particular about who I would put on my list. Sure, there may be an artist with a generally good sound, or a group with a few good songs - that list could go on forever since I listen to just about everything.
To make my list, however, I have to enjoy nearly every track. No filler songs on albums, no 12 songs with different lyrics but the same rythym, and especially no inadequate lyrical quality.
Christina Aguilera Beach Boys Boyz II Men Mariah Carey Creed Eminem Everclear Green Day Linkin Park Lorie Line No Mercy Offspring Petra Shania Twain Smashmouth Sugar Ray Third Eye Blind Wallflowers
Honorable Mention: Tim McGraw (I just cant handle country, even if it's good) Alanis Morissette (She fell off my list after Dogma) Nirvana (People forget that many of their songs sucked) No Doubt (They played their way off my list with their new style) All Classical music
