A Message from SRL - (This goes along with what Tegid posted above...
"Hello everyone - a quick update for you:
I spent some time today looking at cover possibilities for the first BRIGHT EMPIRES book, and I can now announce a publication date for it in the States: 31 August, 2010. Meanwhile, I'm pounding away on the second in the series - THE BONE HOUSE.
In fact, tomorrow I leave for Texas, where I'll be isolating myself in the hill country with my manuscript, mapping out the remainder of the book. I intend to lay in a sustaining supply of barbeque brisket and banana pudding from Rudy's. I'll be spending time with my good friend and collaborator Jeff Johnson, and we hope to film some conversations for you. Should be a good trip!
SRL. "

That trailer was more entertaining than I was expecting it to be. I am curious if he'll allude to his Albion series at all since there seems to be some similarities between the two series.

Good news on the signing tour. I only wish I was closer than 10 hours drive to reach him.

The Skin Map is now released Just in case you can't wait for it to be in the stores or at Amazon ... The publisher, Thomas Nelson, now lists The Skin Map as 'in stock' and shipping within 2 to 3 business days of being ordered. They are currently offering it for $19.99 plus shipping. Even though this is more than two weeks earlier than expected, this is for real. Mine came today. To order now from Thomas Nelson, click > here < If you'd rather hold out for Amazon's lower price (and free shipping, if you order enough other stuff, like a second copy) and don't mind waiting another couple weeks, click > here < to order. (Please, if you are ordering it from Amazon, please do so by clicking on their links > here < in this thread. It is coded in a way that generates a small amount of support that makes Lawhead's official website possible.)

you can pre-order at Amazon.com now, but it won't be released until 8/31/2010. I can't decide if I want to order it now or wait until I have my new book shelf so I can keep one shelf free for my Lawhead books. But I'll definitely get it!

A nice interview with Stephen Lawhead concerning The Skin Map and lots of other things appears > here<. Thanks to Treskillard for pointing it out. Lawhead's official > website< has had a complete make-over. Please check it out. If you haven't yet ordered the book, please consider using > this link< to order it from Amazon and thereby support Lawhead's website. If you live anywhere near the seven cities of his announced September tour in the US, please come by and see him, listen to a reading, participate in Q&A, and enjoy the time!

I preordered a copy a few months ago, but just moved to college on Satruday and it has yet to arrive at home. So I probably won't be able to read it for a few weeks, but I am stoked for when I do get to read it!
