Greetings everyone!
I recently spoke with SRL and he is in "roaring good health", so thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.
His new book, The Skin Map, is completed and soon to be going to the publishers this summer, so be looking for it in a book store near you soon!!
Finally, he has put an update on his website regarding his "Author Appearance" dates on his Diary Page and would like all of you to check it out, as he says to me "In case any of them happen to be in the vicinity and feel like meeting up, I'd be chuffed to see 'em".
That's all for now! I'll add more updates as they become available.

If only he was coming someplace closer than 11 hours away... Interesting to see out of all the places in the US he could've gone to which ones he picked.

That's lovely! It's about that far for me, too, Paladin...let's all mourn together, shall we? =P
But Twyrch, the question is, "How soon is soon?" Last I heard The Skin Map wasn't slated for release until September 2009. Is SRL just really really excited and writing fast (that would rock, of course)...or is this just the beginning of the all the editing/printing/distributing crap?

Knowing how slow publishing is, I would expect a 2010 spring release.
It takes a long time to edit, print, market, publicize, sell to bookstores, and distribute books.

A June 15th diary entry states, "Meetings with the publisher and editors went very well and they're already beginning to gear up for the launch of the new series even though it is some time away." I don't like to think about it, but it may be a while before we can get the next Lawhead work in our hands...

The first book in the new series—The Skin Map—is planned to release September 2010, followed annually by The Bone House, The Spirit Well, The Shadow Lamp, and The Fatal Tree.

September! Oh well, I was hoping for Spring.  Anticipation ...  I just re-ordered a used copy of "The Paradise War" in the same hardcover edition I had bought back in the 90's. I had lent it out to someone many years ago and haven't seen them or the book since. I just couldn't stand having that set incomplete ... and I wanted them to match. |
